Description
In the centre a youth wearing a cloak levels his spear to attack the boar which rushes towards him from right. A huntsman with quiver and bow stands beyond him to right and two hounds precede him. Two huntsmen attack the boar from behind, one with a spear, the other with stones. A huntsman sinks wounded at the side of the boar, while on far right a kneeling youth tends a bearded man who is wounded in the knee. On left the Dioscuri approach the central figure and Atalanta moves rapidly, taking an arrow from her quiver. Far left, two bearded old men stand watching, each carrying a pedum. There are three hounds at the feet of figures in the left part. Seven trees are spaced evenly across the background.
