Description
Near each end is a lion mask with a ring in its mouth, from which hang the ends of two garlands. The rest of the garlands are hidden by figures. On far left beyond the mask, a maenad with a drape around her legs moves into the background with her back to the viewer, holding a tympanum. On far right, beyond the mask, a draped maenad, cut by the border, moves right but looks back to left. Between the masks a maenad on left and a satyr in centre dance as a maenad on right plays the tympanum. The satyr has his back to the viewer, a swag of drapery hanging from his shoulders; he holds a staff in his left hand. A tiger springs to right by his feet.
