Description
On left, Prometheus, seated to left, works on the figure of a man, while another stands ready at his feet. Athena, standing far left, stretches out her left arm and holds a butterfly over the head of the figure on Prometheus' knee. Her shield and owl are in the back ground beneath a tree, behind the second figure. In the upper background behind Prometheus, a female consults a globe on a pillar and one of the Fates holds her distaff. A half-draped female reclines on right of Prometheus, holding an enormous fruit-filled cornucopia with the help of two putti; by her elbow is a basket. At her feet Cupid and Psyche embrace. Above her a draped figure drives a quadriga to left, past a reclining bearded male who holds a rudder over his shoulder and leans on a sea-monster. On right, a fire burns in a rocky forge where three men wearing loin cloths swing their hammers to beat the metal on the anvil. A globular vessel stands on the ground by the anvil. A nude male peeps over the rock upper right into the forge. On far right Eve and Adam, standing on a rock, move to left from beneath a tree.
