The base is in Venice, Museo Archeologico, inv. 104, Anti 137 Sala X.4 see Bm 9.33 for drawings of its other two sides.
Description
The bust of Hadrian, wearing a cuirass ornamented with a Medusa head, stands on a pedestal on a triangular base. Across the top of the base is a frieze of lotus and palmette between rams' heads at the corners; along the bottom is a band of floral scrolls between protomes of sphinxes at the corners. The central panel is decorated with the figure of a putto, his cloak spread behind him, flying to left carrying a sword.
