Museo Archeologico, Venice. Inv No. 110 (a) and Inv No. 269 (b)
Description
a) On left stands a female wearing a peplos; she looks right and rests her left hand on the shoulder of Dionysus, nude, on right. He leans on a thyrsus and holds a jug in his right hand. A tiger on the ground between them is partly hidden by the female's skirt; it looks right and raises its forepaw.
b) Apollo, his cloak clasped at his neck and falling down behind, stands on left facing the viewer and holds in his left hand a contorted snake, which should probably be a bow. On right stands Hermes looking towards him. He wears a cap and holds his caduceus on his left arm, over which is also a swag of drapery. In his right hand he holds a money bag (?). A griffin sits on the ground between them, facing Apollo.
On the back of the drawing is a sketchy black pencil drawing of a stretching male figure
