(b) ex Romanis antiquitatibus,
(c) Romae ab antiquo repertum

Description
Content (description)
The two views of the jug are set side by side on the shelf with a view of landscape in the background. The profile of the jug curves smoothly from the neck into the body. It stands on a high foot and has a single handle, which rises well above the mouth. Beneath the lip are figures with cornucopiae. The body is decorated with putti, who hunt or harness butterflies. Beneath the handle a putto flies right in front of a tree to a large seated female.
