The volume Bn 11, entitled Vase antiche, is devoted entirely to vases, some antique, but mostly fanciful products after the antique. A large number of the engravings have the initials AE. V and the representation of fanciful vases fall into three groups, distinguished by the inscriptions (a) sic Romae antiqui sculptores ex aere et marmore faciebant,
(b) ex Romanis antiquitatibus,
(c) Romae ab antiquo repertum

Description
The body is basically oval in shape, running in a smooth curve into the neck, but at the bottom of the body the curve is cut short in a straight line, below which a shallower and narrower section joins the foot. The foot is decorated with spiral flutings. The handles are long-necked winged females, whose bodies divide into two snaky tails instead of legs; their lower bodies are masked with leaves. Their tails entwine across the widest part of the vase and their wing-tips meet. Beneath the knot of their entwined tails is a palmette, from which hang two garlands of fruit and leaves around the belly of the vase. A ram's head is set over each garland beneath each handle.
