The volume Bn 11, entitled Vase antiche, is devoted entirely to vases, some antique, but mostly fanciful products after the antique. A large number of the engravings have the initials AE. V and the representation of fanciful vases fall into three groups, distinguished by the inscriptions (a) sic Romae antiqui sculptores ex aere et marmore faciebant,
(b) ex Romanis antiquitatibus,
(c) Romae ab antiquo repertum

Description
The jug has an ovoid body, a tall slender plain neck which flares out to the plain lip and a low slim foot. On the body hang two garlands of rosettes and lotus (?), over each of which a lizard like creature clings to the vase vertically, head downwards. Beneath the point from which the garlands hang is a grotesque horned mask. On the shoulder two snakes coil intricately together, each rearing its head above a lizard. The handle rises out of the mouth of one of them and joins the lip beneath a mask. The jug appears to have a fragment missing from the neck.
