Title page with two pairs of herms flanking the large inscription: SPECULUM/ROMANAE/MAGNIFICEN/TIAE/OMNIA FERE QUAECUNQ/IN URBE MONUMENTA/ EXTANT PARTIM IUXTA/ ANTIQUAM PARTIM IUNXTA/ HODIERNAM FORMAM/ ACCURATISS DELINEATA/ REPRAESENTANS/ Accesserent non paucae tum an/tiquarum/rerum. Urbis figurae nunquam/antehac aeditae.
A second smaller inscription fills the lower panel: Roma tenet propriis monumenta sepulta ruinis/Plurima qua profert hic redivina liber./hunc igitur lector scrutare benigne docebit/Urbis maiestas pristina quanta fuit.
