Content (description)

The frieze of Nilotic scenes from round the base on which the statue of the Nile reclines is shown set around the statue like a frame.
At the top left is a very long inscription explaining the significance of the statue and ending: ....HAEC OMNIA TIBI ANT. LAFRERI AENEA TABULA NUNC PROFERT EX ANTIQUO SIMULACHRO QUOD IN VATICANO ADHUC CONSPICITUR EXACTE EFFIGIATA
