Content (description)

In a niche stands a statue of bearded Hercules with a skin tied round his neck and falling over his left arm, on which he holds a nude baby. In his right hand he holds the remains of a club by his leg. There is a tree trunk by his left leg.
Beneath the statue is inscribed: COMMODI IMP FACIEM ATQUE HABITUM HERCULIS INDUTI AC PUSIONEM INFANTEM ( CUIUS ERRORE PERIIT) BRACHIO/ LAEVO GESTANTIS STATUA INSIGNIS ITA UT IN BELVEDERE ( PONT HORTO SIC VULGO APPELLATO) EXTAT/ ANT. LAFRERI SEQUANI FORMIS EXPRESSA ROMAE ANNO MDL.
