Content (description)

The group is shown in its actual state, ( but in reversed positions) with brick repairs and vegetation here and there. On the base of the group are the inscriptions OPUS PRAXITELIS...... OPUS FIDIAE.
On the lower edge of the plinth is the following:
HEUS TU QUI PRAETERIS MORARE PAULUM AC INSPICE/ IN QUIRINALI HI SUNT EQUI MARMOREI MUTILI ATQ GRANDES/ART VICTA NATURA PARENS SPIRITUM CUR ERIPIT/ QUID PRAXITELES ET FIDIAS EFFINXERE ISTOS AEMULAMUR/SAT DIXI ABEL VALE SALVE MISCE BIBE DA MI/ ROMAE MDXLVI./
