Description
The child, wearing a tunic and cap, sits on a high rock mound with his fishing rod in his right hand, a basket over his left wrist. The statue is viewed obliquely from right.
Beneath the statue is the inscription: PUERI PISCANTIS E PARIO MARMORE ABSOLUTISSIMUM SIMULACHRUM/ ROMAE IN VALLE VATICANA INVENTUM ANT LAFRERI SEQUANI FORMIS/ Anno Salutis MDLXVII
