The volume Bn 12 is described in Fa 4 as : 'Speculum Romanae Magnificentiae in loose sheets being points of ye most famous remains of buildings, amphitheatres, temples, columns, triumphal arches, mausoleums and statues in Rome - engraved by Lafrerius, Barlachus, Aen. Vicus and others'
Description
As Bn. 12 no. 34, but in reverse. The obelisk and column are shown in their actual state against a landscape background. In the foreground is a river god in a stream, the she-wolf suckling the twins in the centre and sculptured fragments. The obelisk, which is plain, stands on a high base.
Amongst the sculptured fragments, lower left is the inscription: AEN. VIC PARM / AS X and a wing on left (Sampson catalogue says right)
