The volume Bn 12 is described in Fa 4 as : 'Speculum Romanae Magnificentiae in loose sheets being points of ye most famous remains of buildings, amphitheatres, temples, columns, triumphal arches, mausoleums and statues in Rome - engraved by Lafrerius, Barlachus, Aen. Vicus and others'
Description
The large doorway is flanked by Corinthian columns, which support the entablature. The door leaves are ajar and a pedimented shrine is visible within.
Benath the lowest steps is the inscription: TEMPLI (UT PUTANT) ROMULI AC REMI QUOD IN COMITIO CERNITUR AC NUNC DIVIS COSMO DAMIANOQUE SACRUM EST/ PORTA MARMORAE VALVAEQ AHENEAE FORMIS ANT. LAFRERI AD VIVUM EFFIGIATA ROMAE MDL
