Description
On far r. two altars with garlands hanging over them stand in front of two bare twiggy trees. A draped man with his head covered pours libation, while a man holds an open box in the background and a youth carries a jug behind him. Three draped men lead up a pig, a sheep and a bull from l. for sacrifice. In the background in the centre are the heads of four subsiduary figures, two of whom carry slender rods; on r. are three draped men, one carrying an axe over his shoulder.
Beneath the relief is the inscription: Solitauriliorum sacrificiorum, quae, lustro peracto, verris arietis ac Tauri (quod integri solidique corporis sint) immolatione, censores urbem lustrantes, omnibus Centuriis et Equitibus in campum Martium convocatis, solemni more/ faciebant; ex antiqua marmorea tabella, Romae, parieti cuidam, in Marci, fixa; lillustris effigies/ Antonii Lafrerii formis Romae 1553
