Content (description)

The sarcophagus is decorated in relief with vintaging putti, who tread grapes on the side, on the front are found among floral scrolls, with a lamb and peacocks below. On the lid are garlands and masks.
Below the sarcophagus is the inscription: ANTIQUI EX PORPHYRITE SARCOPHAGI IN BACCHI AD SECUNDUM AB URBE VIA MOMENTANA LAPIDEM, ut rudius propter marmoris duritiem vel artificis negligentiam vel saeculi sane barbariem tum in fronte et a tergo tum dextro/ ac sinistro latere totidem et iisdem figuris insulpti ita sepulchri Constantiae Constantini Magni Filiae fama quamquam incerta Vulgo noti *deformatio*. Antonii Lafrerii sequani formis Romae MDLIIII
