Description
The fortress is viewed from the South with the river and the bridge on right. On the far bank of the Tiber are shown the buildings of Rome including the Pantheon. Groups of figures are included in various activities.
At the top, flanking the flagpole is the following inscription: Sepulchrum quod tunc In presentium Sti Angeli
temporis Adriani Imperatoris castellum Rome
erat nuncupatur
Beneath the image is engraved: CASTELLO SANCTO ANGELO DI ROMA and, smaller: Ant. Lafrerij. formis.
