Below the battle scene is the inscription, [in capitals]: Amazonum pugna adfabre efficta de sarcophago vetustissimo quod in Captilio visitur eamque aeneis formis incidit atque in edibus suis suaque impensa Nicolaus Beatricus Lotharingus in lucem ad communem omnium qui rebus antiquis/ oblectantur utilitatem emisit K. Ian. MDLIX
