Description

Content (description)

Four views of the mummy are given: front, side view of front, view of the inside with the body in position, and back view.
On the shoulders of the effigy are griffin heads with a sphere, and on its chest an elaborate collar, beneath which is a figure with outspread wings flanked by kneeling females. The lower front is covered with hieroglyphics, a detail of which is given in Bn. 13. No.36. On the back stands a female holding fillets (?) in each hand and with a falcon-god perched on her head. Numbered key to the four different views along the lower edge.
Beneath is the inscription: Cadaver balsamo conditum, simul cum Loculo ferali, [Greek........], Pictura hieroglyphica/ pulcherrime insignito. Ex vetustis Aegypti Sepulchretis sublatum Londinum attulit D. Giul. Lethieullier C.V sc.
