Description
Four circular openings are equally spaced in the lower part of the dome. Between them run two zones of painting divided into panels: in the panels of the lower zone are standing figures, in those of the upper zone, a marine thiasos. Springing from the second zone are painted eight adjoining arches, in each of which is a figured panel. In the centre of the 'canopy' produced by the arches is a tondo in which Jupiter sits on clouds with his eagle and his thurnderbolt. The tondo is bordered by panels of floral arabesques and figures.
