Description
The plan is accompanied by explanatory notes and an alpahbetical index.
Along the upper edge is the inscription: THE PLAN of AUGUSTUS'S BATH/ found under ground on the east side of the Palatine Hill in Rome, in the year 1721 and barborously/defaced and broken in pieces, during the Conclave, that year, and the broken Pieces sent to Parma./ The whole done at Rome and reduced to a scale of English feet.
