Content (description)
The oval cameo, which is set in a fluted border, shows two heads in profile to right, in the foreground that of Augustus, with his head draped and wearing a laurel wreath, in the background Livia, wearing a diadem,which has perhaps been misunderstood as a helmet. Attached at the top are crinkled fillets, on which is inscribed OCTAVIANUS AUGUSTUS MARCUS MARCELLUS.
