Description

Content (description)

In an oval frame of laurel leaves the bust of Temple is set to left, but he turns his head towards the viewer. His coat of arms is set at the bottom of the frame. A fillet, attached to the top of the frame, flies out, bearing the words: SERVARE MODUM FINEMQUE TUERI NATURAMQUE SEQUI.
Beneath the frame is a pedestal on the front of which is to be read:
Dominus Guglielmus Temple/ Eques Baronettus Ser.mi et Pot.mi Magnae Britanniae Regis ad Ords Foed.ti Belgii Legatus Extr.s et apud Fractatus pacis tam Aquisgrani quam Neomagi Legatus Mediat.s Eiusdem Ser.mi Regis a Secretioribus Consiliis 1679
