Content (description)

On the obverse of the coin are the heads of a bearded man with wreath and a woman with a diadem, both facing the centre. IMP SEVERUS ALEXANDER AUG IULIA MAMAEA AGU MATER AUG. On the reverse a draped male holding a sceptre sits on a starred globe and rests his right hand on a zodiac (?), through which are seen four small children. On right stands Victory holding a wreath behind his head. On left behind the zodiac stands a bearded old male with a staff. The inscription reads TEMPORUM FELICITAS.
Above the coin is the inscription: Eximium ac nondum visum/ Imperatoris Severi Alexandri Augusti/ Numisma aereum maximi moduli/ et crassiori auricalchi circulo inclusum./ Ex museo/ Ill.mi et Rev.mi D. Marci Antonii Ansidaei/ Archiepiscopi Damiatae.
