The short-haired man wears a cuirass, at the neck of which is a Medusa head on a panel of scale-pattern. A fringed cloak is fastened on his left shoulder and passes under his right arm. The bust stands on a pedestal on a shelf.
On a tablet below the bust is the inscription: EXCALPTUM ACHATI SARDON/EX MUSEO MEDICEO.
