Description
The Bacchic figure scene on the bucket is shown as if opened out. On left, a satyr, wearing a loin cloth and carrying a pedum and basket, follows a maenad to right. She carries a tympanum and turns to gesture to the satyr. In centre Pan with Pan pipes and a maenad, draped and holding a pipe, gesture to one another. On right a satyr with a pedum holds a bowl into which a maenad pours the contents of a jug. At the same time she leans on a column, right and turns towards a draped maenad with a thyrsus on right. The latter raises a large drinking bowl. A panther bounds behind the column. Across the top of the scene are leafy swags. Gaps in the field are filled with leafy branches, bunches of grapes etc.
