Description
Content (description)
The princess sits on right, to right, attended by a nurse and a woman. There is a curtain in the background. Jason stands on left of the princess, holding a spear and with a helmet by his feet; he looks left. In the centre is the princess in frenzy and her father in despair. The two boys run left, one holding a sphere. A woman (Medea?) stands in the background looking left and pointing right and holding a rope (?). On far left Medea drives off in the chariot drawn by two dragons, with one dead child in the chariot, the other over her shoulder. The figures are set in a hilly landscape with ruins.
