Content (description)

The putto carry the attributes of Neptune - trident and shell - to a throne in the centre. There is a drape over the throne and a sea-monster beneath. Behind runs a wall with pilasters and a frieze of dolphins and tridents.
Beneath is the inscription: OPUS HOC ANTIQUU SCULP REPERITUR RAVENAE IN AED DIVI VITALIS MDXVIIII
SR inscribed on the pedestal of the pilaster.
