Description
In the centre stands a Pan herm, which is being garlanded by a maenad on left and a Panesse. A satyr interrupts the Panesse to join a dance with satyrs and maenads. A maenad in the foreground holds a goat at the foot of the herm, but she too seems to be holding hands with a dancing maenad in the background. A maenad kneels on left of the herm, arranging bunches of grapes round its foot and an infant Pan helps to arrange the garlands. From left comes a large male, garlanded, holding grapes in a fold of drapery. He is accompanied by Pan, who sets his hoof in a basket of fruit. On far right a satyr blows a double horn. Garlands and vases hang in the background.
