Description
Most of the field is occupied by an inscription panel. Over it a relief shows a half-draped bearded man reclining on cushions on a high-backed couch, holding out a wreath or fillet in his right hand. On the bottom of the couch is a rosette-like wreath. An infant, wearing a tunic, stands on right holding out a wreath or folded fillet to the man; on left stands a girl (?) wearing a tunic and holding an up-turned torch. A curved 'frame' is set behind the scene. The inscription in the panel is as follows: D M/ UMBERIUS VALERIANUS/BEF E Q S UMBERI F/ STIP XVII EX PROVIN/ MAUR CAESARENSE/ VIX ANN XXVI/UMBERIUS SE DATUS SIG/ET UMBERIUS SECUNDUS/CUR FRATRI DUC FEC.
