Description
22: front and back. A garland of oak leaves and acorns hangs from the horns of bearded satyr-heads at the top corners. At each bottom corner an eagle with outspread wings stands on a projecting rock. Between them a dolphin floats over waves to right. Over the garland on the front is a Medusa head with flowing hair and wide-spreading wings on the temples. Over the garland on the back a nude putto flies right with a billow of drapery over his head. At the top on the back is the inscription: DIS MANIBUS; at the front at the top between the satyr heads: ABASCANT[...]/QUI FUIT O [...]/AFRUMENT[....]/VIX ANN XX[...]/VOLUSIA O [...]/CONIUGI/BENEMERENTI ET SIB.
23: sides. The sides are very similar to the front and back, but the garlands are of leaves and the dolphins and waves are missing. Over the garland on one side a bird holds a butterfly in its beak beneath a jug, on the other side a bird pecks a leaf beneath a patera.
