Description
On far left three Furies sleep in various attitudes among rocks. A bearded male falls to the ground from a stool as a youth brandishes a sword and pulls his drapery from him. A nurse rushes off in horror to left. Clytemnestra, half-draped, lies dead in the centre, while the youth waves his sword over her. A male, wearing a tunic, squats in front of a curtain on right, holding a block (?), while a Fury moves left behind the curtain, brandishing a snake and a torch. A Fury or youth stands on right behind the curtain, the end of which rests on the head of a herm. At the foot of the herm a Fury lies asleep. By her legs stands Orestes, brandishing his sword, and rests his hand on a tripod, which stands on a pedestal far right in front of a tree.
