Description
In the centre stands Athena with her left foot raised on a rock, leaning on her spear to right but turning to look left. A griffin sits in front of her and also turns to look left at Apollo (who is actually shown as a Muse with feathers on his forehead); he is fully draped and plays the lyre. Between Apollo and Athena stands a tripod, round which a snake is entwined. The two divinities are flanked by the nine Muses, five on left, four on right, all draped and with two feathers on their foreheads. A curtain hangs in the background.
