Description

Content (description)

Youthful Dionysus, wearing a vine wreath and a cloak clasped round his neck, sits side-saddle on a prancing goat. He holds one of its horns as it turns its head to look back at him. Dionysus extends his left arm, holding an object now lost, perhaps a thyrsos. Beneath the goat's forequarters is a tree trunk.
