Object history note
It is very likely that this is an album of official photographs, produced in Montevideo, Uruguay which was presented to Edward Hope Vere, British Chargé d'Affairs at Montevideo, who was responsible for Shackleton's funeral arrangements and the return of his remains to South Georgia. The album may have become separated from the Hope Vere Papers which have been catalogued at MS 599.
