Physical description
Oval soup tureen with lid and ladle. The upper edge of the large oval tureen is decorated with a broad band of Greek ornament, fluted edges, and two double scrolled handles ending in acanthus leaves. It is supported on an oval gadrooned foot. Larger, double scrolled handle on the cover. The Carter arms are engraved on the body of the tureen and the Carter crest on the lid. King's pattern ladle with Carter crest.
