Physical description
Large silver gilt cup and cover, decorated with palm leaves in relief, with fruit finial. Pair of angular handles of square cross section. Circular foot decorated with acanthus leaves. Engraved with the arms of Eton College and the Society of S. S. Mary and Nicholas Lancing.
The cup is a copy of one by Paul Storr, 1800-1801, presented by the Prince of Wales (afterwards Edward VII) to the Middle Temple in 1887, which is illustrated in C.J. Jackson's History of English Plate No. 350

Presented by Lancing College in gratitude for the gift of the Choir stalls removed from College Chapel when the wall paintings were uncovered and the canopies removed.
