Description
Silver gilt communion cup (chalice) and paten with incised decoration
Comments
'The second chalice and paten-cover [in the Eton College Collections] are of similar form [to the Weaver Chalice and Pater, ECS-S.95-2014] but plainer, and were made in London in 1624-5 by a goldsmith bearing the initials FT conjoined, attributed to Fred Terry. Although not inscribed, the donor is assumed to have been Thomas Weaver, Fellow of King's College, Cambridge, and of Eton, who wainscotted both sides of the Choir of King's College Chapel.'

Physical description
Chalice: Silver gilt, large and plain. The centre of the body encircled by two narrow mouldings. The stem is divided by a plain knop with ovolo mouldings top and bottom on a high domed foot. Engraved with the arms of Eton College.
Paten: Silver gilt, plain with simple reed shaped foot. Engraved with the arms of Eton College.
