Comments
This desk may have previously been in use within Lower School, the first schoolroom to be built at Eton in the 1440s. The interior of Lower School survives much as it was following a 17th-century refurbishment. Although now discouraged, the carving of boys' names into interior woodwork and furniture was overlooked or even permitted for much of the college's history.
