Born and raised in Guilin, China, Jing Huang is a ceramic artist. She currently lives and works in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Water vapour is always present in the air around us in the form of suspended droplets and aerosols. Water vapour attaches to dust particles in the environment, forming raindrops, hail or snow depending on the temperature. As water vapour cools we see it as a cloud of steam, or on a larger scale as the clouds in the sky. This piece by the Chinese sculptor and ceramicist Jing Huang is part of a series reflecting the natural flow of changes in landscape and atmosphere over time, translating the intangible movement of clouds around a mountain peak into solid form.
