Content (note)
A shield bearing the arms of the Duke of Newcastle and surmounted by a coronet. The inscription beneath reads 'Henricus Pelham Duc de Newcastle'.The 4th Duke of Newcastle, educated at Eton, founded the Newcastle Scholarship Prize for Divinity and Classics in 1829, in an attempt to reform the lack of religion demonstrated by boys during his time at the school.
