Cross-stitched cushion; design shows a fountain and six doves.
Description
The needlework for this series of textiles was largely carried out by mothers or relations of contemporary and past Etonians and the initials or names of the craftswomen are recorded within the textiles.This example was cross-stitched by Isla Margaret Gladstone (née Erskine Crum; died 1987), the wife of a House Master and mother of Eton boys.
