1) 'Presented to the School Library, Eton College by Arthur Christopher Benson 1903'
2) 'This desk was the property of Samuel Johnson LLD and was left by him to his Goddaughter, the daughter of Maurituis Lowe, painter at whose sale it was bought by Mr Moir the eccentric collector at Brighton. in 1894 it came into my possession, Eton College Arthur Christopher Benson'
