Comments
David Roberts spend almost a year in Spain, 1832-1833 and the numerous sketches that he produced during the trip formed the basis for a number of significant oil paintings he completed upon his return. Many of his drawings were reproduced as prints in four editions of Robert Jennings’ Landscape Annual (1835-1838) which brought him both popular and critical success.
