Comments
One of the views mentioned by Margaretta Brown as a subject William had chosen for the Keate girls, and the subject of his own soft ground etching of 1822. No less than eight tinted Eton views by Miss Keate, including this title, were shown at the 1891 Loan Exhibition, n.149. This is a particularly finsihed example of the medium in which William liked to teach pupils at Eton, as the Eton Scrap Book demonstates.
