Spurrier has painted this scene on a rainy day, evidenced by the reflection of trees on Long Walk onto the road in the foreground.

Beyond is Upper School, where the Porter's Lodge and Post Room occupy the ground floor. Above is the large Upper School Room, the second large schoolroom to be constructed at Eton.
