This map was used as a frontispiece for the book 'Eton Medley' by B. J. W. Hill, published 1948. In the preface (p.x), the author includes:
'I can scarely express adequately my thanks to Miss Hester Wagstaff for so kindly giving me permission to reproduce her beautiful pictorial map of Eton.'
He adds in a footnote:
'The pictorial map of Eton was drawn in 1937. Since then the changes are that Mustian has been completed, Coleridge House has been demolished and Hawtrey House enlarged. Cpmmon Lane House has also been enlarged, and Savile House and Upper School were damaged by bombs in 1940.'
