Comments
This print shows the exterior of College Hall, from Brewhouse Yard. Illustrations dating from the early 19th century, like this example, demonstrate that the bay window was then filled with clear, latticed panes of glass.
The existing stained-glass is thought to have been designed in c.1842 by Thomas Willement (1786–1871), despite it not bearing his monogram signature. Willement was a writer on heraldry and one of the foremost stained-glass artists of the 19th century. The glass has recently been removed for conservation treatment and was reinstalled in October this year.
