Comments
The son of Dr. Charles Moss, Bishop of St David's and later of Bath and Wells. Dr. Moss senior was also a substantial landowner and, on his death in 1802, left his son £120,000.
Charles Moss was in Sixth Form. After Oxford, he entered the church and held various rich preferments before being made Bishop of Oxford in 1807. His father had also been painted by Romney.
